Evenings

The entire western façade of the old town is painted in gold during the sunset. According to some, the name “Obradoiro” may actually come from the fact that the Cathedral looks like an “obra de oro” (work of gold). We can contemplate the city in its golden light from Alameda Park or, further up, from Monte Pedroso.

You can also enjoy beautiful sunsets from the terrace of the Hostal dos Reis Católicos, in Praza do Obradoiro; from the cafeteria of the Auditorio de Galicia, beside its lake; from Belvís Park and Bonaval or from Monte da Almáciga, to observe the silhouettes of the monuments against the light…

In summer, the outdoor concerts held in the Galician City of Culture give you a chance to enjoy music and light.
